METHOD & TRANSPARENCY

Understand Your Ballot. Read The Record.

StateBallot is an independently maintained election research platform for Florida voters. It brings Florida ballot questions, candidates, government records and campaign finance into a source-linked guide. It is not a government election service or a substitute for your official ballot.

How We Research

Official election offices establish ballot qualification, election dates and certified results. Legislatures, courts and agencies establish their own actions. Campaign websites support attributed biographical and platform claims; independent reporting supplies context. Automated collection helps organize material, while identity matches, dates and financial reconciliations require explicit checks. An automated collection date is not a claim that every fact was reverified that day.

Analysis describes possible benefits, costs and household effects. It is separate from enacted law and does not guarantee a personal financial outcome. Missing information marks an acquisition or verification gap.

Money & Identity

Campaign accounts, cycles and reporting periods are kept separate. Complete named ledgers are shown where acquired and reconciled; partial lists retain their limits. Public matching funds, loans, in-kind support, refunds, direct gifts, earmarked attribution and independent spending are different flows. A sector badge identifies reviewed funding evidence and does not establish influence, religion, ideology or control.

Individual contributor street addresses, ZIP codes, employers and occupations are excluded from our donor display. Federal reports may contain unitemized totals without public donor names.

News, Images & Historical Records

News searches connected independent publisher archives and links to original reporting. Independent ownership does not establish political neutrality. Reporting, commentary and campaign statements have different evidentiary roles. A news mention alone does not establish an issue position.

Real portraits require identity and source verification. Licensed stock imagery illustrates policy subjects; it does not depict a specific vote or event. Election cycles and saved revisions preserve historical context, while current government uses the current verified roster.

Corrections & Source Checks

Each profile or brief links to its original evidence and review date. If a record appears incomplete or inconsistent, compare its exact person, account, period and source document. Source changes and corrections should retain the earlier election record rather than silently overwrite history.
